Board Briefs from Jan. 6, 2010 Special Board Meeting

This document includes highlights of information received by the Ladue Schools Board of Education at the Jan. 6, 2020 Special Board Meeting. This is an unofficial record. Official minutes of each Board meeting are posted on the district website and are available for viewing at the Administrative Center after the Board approves them, typically two weeks after the meeting.

INFORMATION ITEMS

Board President Carolyn Jaeger opened the discussion by explaining the purpose of the meeting was to determine the most appropriate timing for a referendum, should the Board decide to make a request of voters in order to make improvements to the district’s four K-4 elementary schools and middle school.

The Board discussed August 2020 and April 2021 as options. It was determined that while some financial advantages may exist for choosing August 2020, this date would not provide sufficient time for the projects to be fully vetted and for the community to be made aware of the needs and recommended solutions prior to voting on the request.

The Board and administration will continue to refine solutions and cost estimates over the next several months. (Current estimates — prior to further refinement — can be found by clicking on the header above.) In addition, opportunities for community input will be provided prior to the Board making a final determination of whether to move forward with a request.
