Board Briefs from Jan. 9, 2017 Special Board Business Meeting

This information includes highlights of information received by the Ladue Schools Board of Education at the Jan. 9, 2017 Special Board Business Meeting.  This is an unofficial record.  Official minutes of each Board meeting are posted on the district website and are available for viewing at the Administrative Center after the Board approves them, typically two weeks after the meeting.


INFORMATION ITEM

Discussion of Olivette TIF Commission.  The Board of Education discussed a possible request from the City of Olivette for Tax Increment Financing (TIF) in relation to a proposed project at the southwest corner of the intersection of Olive Boulevard and I-170.  A TIF is a method of financially supporting development that involves approving the alteration of the typical taxation requirements by the municipalities and/or government organizations with taxing authority over the development, such as a school district.  The purpose of the meeting was to share current information in regard to the project, and no specific decision has been reached by the Board of Education at this time.

The next Board of Education meeting will be a Business Meeting on Jan. 23, 2017, at 7 p.m. at the Administrative Center, 9703 Conway Road.  Tentative agenda items include the following.
